ECS for Carpet
The Environmental Certification Scheme for Carpet, administered by the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS), sets a high benchmark for sustainability in carpet manufacturing. The program features five certification levels:
- ECS 1
- ECS 2
- ECS 3
- ECS 4
- ECS 4+
These levels reflect a manufacturer’s commitment to environmentally responsible practices in broadloom and modular carpet tiles, with higher levels indicating greater sustainability achievements. ECS-certified carpets adhere to strict environmental guidelines, ensuring reduced ecological impact through sustainable materials, responsible production methods, and ongoing environmental improvements.
Our carpet portfolio includes a large range of products that achieve ECS Level 4+ which achieves a Responsible Product Value of 12+ points meeting Best Practice Requirements under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Responsible Product Framework.
ECS for Carpet
The Environmental Certification Scheme for Resilient Flooring, also administered by the Carpet Institute of Australia, establishes a clear sustainability standard for hard flooring products. The program includes three certification levels:
- ECS 1
- ECS 2
- ECS 2+
These levels demonstrate environmental responsibility in manufacturing Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT), Homogeneous & Heterogeneous Vinyl, and Rigid Core flooring. ECS certification ensures compliance with strict environmental standards, promoting sustainable material use, responsible energy consumption, and reduced waste in production.
