Here at GH Commercial we were proud to continue our support of the Architecture & Design Sustainability Awards in 2024 as an official award partner for a third year, in the Interior Design category. With 18 categories covering Projects, People, and Innovation, there was an opportunity for entries of every size, type, and budget to participate and be celebrated for their positive impact on a greener future.
Sustainability Awards – Interior Design
The Sustainability Awards is Australia’s longest running and most prestigious awards program dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating excellence in sustainable design and architecture.
The Interior Design category champions projects that feature a renovation or fit out of the interior of an existing building where the sustainable design is involved with such factors as determining the efficient and effective use of space, selecting construction materials that offer low environmental impact and lowering pollution, waste, and the lowering of the overall energy consumption.
This category recognises projects that have undergone a refurbishment or a re-fit. These projects hold sustainability at the core of their design and carefully consider efficient use of space, low environmental impact of construction materials, and a reduction in pollution, waste, and overall energy consumption are central.
Interior Design Award goes to Arup & Hames Sharley
Congratulations to Arup Group and Hames Sharley for taking home the Interior Design Award for the Perth Arup Workplace at Architecture and Design Sustainability Awards 2024.
The new Arup workplace is a showcase of cutting-edge sustainability and wellness in the built environment, reflecting the company’s commitment to the highest international standards. The workplace has been designed with Hames Sharley, Peter Farmer, and Arup’s multidisciplinary design team and represents Arup’s latest pursuit of the Living Building Challenge, the most rigorous benchmark for sustainable design, and is also targeting WELL Platinum certification for operational excellence.
We also extend our congratulations to Bates Smart + Blaklash for the Lendlease Brisbane project and TEROIR Pty Ltd for their TERROIR Hobard Office project.
